01

How the test works

Visual Reaction Time runs entirely in the browser and records only the events required for the chosen mode. Start the test, follow the on-screen prompt and finish the full run for a comparable result.

02

How the score is calculated

Reaction time is measured from the signal timestamp to the first valid response. False starts are rejected or penalized.

03

What is a good result?

Lower is usually better, but compare a session median rather than one lucky run. Leaderboards separate different modes.

04

Measurement limits

Browser scheduling, device latency, display refresh rate, input hardware and background load can change the measurement. Compare results on the same device and mode.

05

How to improve

Do not guess the signal. Run several trials, remove obvious false starts and compare the median under the same setup.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will my result be saved without an account?

Yes. Recent attempts and personal bests are stored locally in this browser.

Can I use a phone?

Yes. For a fair comparison, keep touch and mouse results separate.

Why might a score not enter the leaderboard?

An unverified account or an anti-cheat flag can send the attempt for review.
