Remove avoidable delay

Use a stable display mode, close heavy background work, and keep the input device connected directly when possible.

Practice anticipation control

Do not guess the signal. Random delay ranges make anticipation less rewarding and produce a more meaningful median.

Use several attempts

A median across five or more valid trials is more robust than one lucky response.
