01

How the test works

Measure repeat speed using any non-modifier keyboard key. Choose a comfortable key and press it repeatedly.

02

How the score is calculated

KPS equals accepted non-repeat key presses divided by measured seconds. Automatic key-repeat events are ignored.

03

Measurement limits

Any Key Test measures repeated keyboard input without tying you to one specific key. You can alternate fingers or choose a comfortable key, but keep the method consistent across runs. Keyboard rollover and operating-system repeat behavior are different from genuine presses, so held keys should not be treated as manual speed.

Sources and editorial notes

The method uses Pointer Events, Keyboard Events and the monotonic Performance API clock. Content is reviewed by CPS-TEST.ONLINE editors.
