A double-click test helps separate intentional paired clicks from unintended switch bounce.
Run a controlled test
Use normal single clicks for 20–30 seconds. If the test repeatedly records pairs when you intended one click, repeat in another browser and on another computer.
Rule out settings
Operating-system double-click speed changes how applications interpret pairs, but it does not repair a switch that emits two physical events.
Confirm before replacing hardware
Check the mouse on a second USB port, disable vendor macros, update firmware if available, and compare wired and wireless modes.
